How to avoid weight gain on weekend

It is a constant challenge to avoid unnecessary eating and drinking especially on weekends. Say no to all snack, nurse your first drink for long time. Leave early if possible. Joy is in being with friends.

No more challenging than during the week imo.
Calorie/carb cycling gives you more flexibility on the weekend for when you want to have a drink or meal out with friends without derailing yourself...0 -
Having a plan always helps. Wanna have a drink and some extra high-calorie foods? Fine. But plan for it. Do a bit of exercise, and cut a few calories out of breakfast/dinner. Also, be flexible. I always do best when I have a plan, even if I end up deviating from it.0

Say no to all snacks - No thanks, I enjoy snacks and fit them in my weekly calorie allowance.
Nurse your first drink for long time - No thanks.
Leave early if possible. Joy is in being with friends - That's contradictory!
Think you have completely the wrong mind-set for long term maintenance, deprivation is a miserable way to plan on spending the rest of your life.0 -
I try to stay more active over weekends which allows me more indulgences.
you may want to to some soul searching about what these eating and drinking events mean to you and if doing them on a regular basis is really your path to happiness. Change is difficult. Where would you rather be in life than nursing a drink?0 -
I just keep a deficit most days to make up for the days I eat more.
I ate 3200 calories yesterday... should still be at maintenance for the week, or even have a small deficit.0 -

What most people do from what I see on here, myself included. I keep at a slight deficit most days during the week, and a little extra exercise on weekends to allow myself some room and have a good time. It's worked so far.
I still wonder what kind of partying some people do that will derail weeks or months of effort in a single weekend. I think if I were to eat enough in one day to gain more than a pound (ore two), I'd also end up feeling sick and miserable (and likely extperiencing that once would be enough to keep me from overdoing it again). It is quite a bit of food and drink, when you think about it.0 -
Happy to know most folks are already aware and planning for weekend . If you must party hard, eat less whole week, may be next week also. Maintaining weight requires more sustained will power than losing it. Weight watching is part of life0

well, weight naturally fluctuates...you don't gain a bunch of fat over a weekend...I will enjoy my weekend just as I've been enjoying my weekend for the last 3 years of doing this thank you very much.0

My strategy:
Plan for snacks (eat some, not others; be adequately fed before going in the first place)
Plan for 2 drinks if alcohol (I am a lightweight when it comes to alcohol, anyway, so 2 is plenty lol)
Leave when ready to go
