If ingredients are listed by weight, does this mean that cranberry juice is really the 2nd to last ingredient in terms of volume in a CRANBERRY PRODUCT?

    Sugar, sugar, water, concentrate.

    Pretty standard formula.

Sounds normal to me. You want 100% juice stuff (or nothing really. Haven't had any juice in 2.5 years, I'd rather eat my calories).

Ocean Spray makes (or used to make) a Lite version.

Lots of juices have tons of added sugar. I assume it's because it's cheaper, but have no idea why they do that.

It's too bad that we can't squeeze our own cranberries like we can with oranges and lemons.

R.W. Knudson sells bottled juice that is just the juice of the fruit...no blends. They make one called Just Cranberry which is 70 cal per 8 oz glass with 9 grams of sugar..no added sugar. Cranberry juice on its own is tart. I use to have a half a glass then add in a flavored seltzer. I don't like sweet drinks myself. Last time i bought it price was $7-9 per bottle. Not cheap.

Anything that says "juice cocktail" means it's a little juice mixed with lots of other stuff. Most national brands have versions that are called Cranberry Juice, Grape Juice, Apple Juice (not cocktail) and will usually have a burst that says 100% juice.

You can make cranberry water. Fresh cranberries cooked in water. Strain out berries. Add stevia as a sweetener.

it actually means there is no cranberry juice in it at all, just juice concentrate, and that when added to water (and sugar), it reconstitutes as juice.

i imagine if there was more concentrate than water and sugar, that would be like a 1500 cal can of disgusting.

Trader joe sells 100% craberry juice that's unsweetened. You get used to the tartness or you can put stevia in it.

Most of the "berry" stuff that says "100% juice" will use a ton of apple juice as cheap filler, so you've got to read the full label. You can get actual 100% berry juice, but it costs a lot more. You're better off just getting actual fruit though, fresh or frozen.
