Nike + Ipod app for Iphone question

Hi, I got a IPhone recently, and it came with the Nike App. Now I tried to use it for the first time. It says "start walking to activate your sensor." Well, I walked, jogged, put it into my jeans pocket, my scrubs pocket, walked at 3.0 on the treadmill, and that stinking sensor doesn't start. What the heck am I doing wrong? I set it to timed exercise, open exercise, with and without music. Same thing happens.
Any ideas?

You need to buy the sensor for your shoe... it's separate. You just don't have to buy the adaptor for the phone.0

I LOVE my sensor!! It's worth buying the shoe sensor!!! It compliments MFP well!0

you need to by the sensor and attachment for the phone.....****s sells them for a set for $28-30 approx. the sensor for the shoe has no battery but lasts about 1000 hours then to replace it it costs about $19

I downloaded the paid app from Nike ("Nike+GPS") and it works WONDERS! It's only 1.99 (Cdn) and totally worth the money for all the neat features it comes with....and needs no sensor attachment!0

O.K. I am downloading it as I type for my phone. I will give it a try on the treadmill later after it charges a bit. Thanks for the tip!0 -
The Nike+ gps app only works outside, not on the treadmill . You need the sensor for the treadmill.0

Scratch that, I just redownloaded the app and it looks like they added a treadmill option! Nice.0

I love the Nike+ gps app for inside but for outside, I highly recommend & really prefer the Runkeeper app. It only works outside but I prefer it over the nike app for outside. It is free too.0

Just a tip - you may want to check out the RunKeeper application. I haven't used the Nike app (I'll check it out), but have used Runkeeper for the last 3 months to keep track on my walks and bike rides. Been a huge help keeping motivated and tracking miles. Check it out - it's free as well and works outside via GPS. Good luck!0
