I had 2 teeth removed today, pretty crazy.. The roots were fused to the bones, so it hurt!! Just wondering when it would be ok to resume my workouts. The dentist didn't say and they're closed for the day..

Anyone have any experience with this??

I had to wait 5 days as not to disturb the blood clot.

I had two teeth out last year and it is really important that you don't get blood rushing to the extraction area, therefore I was told by my dentist to avoid cardio for 72 hours to ensure no bleeding occured and that the clotting blood at the site of the extraction isn't affected.

Hope you're not in any pain...I had a traumatic extraction too...was expecting him to put his knee on my chest and pull

    ^^^^ What she said.

I didn't follow this and went for a run the day after oral surgery, and two miles from home I blew out the clot.

It was not a fun experience, buy the time I made it home I looked like the loser in a bar fight.

at the very least, take tonight off, and call the dentist tomorrow to be certain.

My doctor told me 72 hours. I had two teeth pulled a couple months ago and thought I was going to go insane not being able to exercise.

Worked in dental for 10 years.

Wait AT LEAST 72 hours. If you had such a severe surgery, you should probably wait till the stitches are removed. You can still take walks to keep yourself moving. Just don't get your heart rate up or do any heavy lifting.
  • I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled a few months ago and I worked out the next day....but I would wait and call your dentist in the morning tho and see what they say before doing anything....
  • Thank you all for responding! I'm bummed, I'm almost done with my first week of the 30DS and I vowed not to take any days off =( I definitely don't want to undo any of my progress, but I also don't want to cause any problems.. I guess I'll be calling in the morning, and taking a little walk tonight. 3-5 days seems like a long time to wait, I never thought I'd miss Jillian!!

    =)
