Has anyone tried any kind of drinks like slim fast or anything? I've followed doctors orders and still no results.

I never have but I'm sure some people have used them here. How successful they were in weight loss I do not know. Not sure what you mean by "followed doctor's orders"... and can't really give you any advice since you haven't provided any information.... like how long you've been at this, what are you trying to do, weight, etc.

I will leave this thread here:

I don't think you'll find too many slimfast fans on here!

They are not a magic potion, they just do the calorie counting for you (and give you tonnes of sugar too)

I like to drink Special K protein shakes for breakfast. I'm not very hungry in the mornings, so the shakes give my a serving of nutrients and 10 grams of protein to start my day. But I still have to eat healthy and exercise and watch my portions the rest of the day. They aren't magic, I mainly do it to keep myself from completely skipping breakfast.

I do protein shakes once in a while, and rev them up with mashed banana, yogurt, and granola.

Way back when when I was in college I drank them for lunches. Only because I was a broke college student and too busy to cook healthy meals for myself. They didn't taste very good, but at least I didn't starve to death.

I did the slimfast shakes a few years ago and decided to go the route of making my own protein shakes at home. With a blender they take no time at all and they are more filling than slimfast.

This way I can control what goes in them and I can tailor the shake to what I need for the day (fruits/vegetables/etc.). I am also a person that cannot have the same thing over and over without getting bored, so making my own shakes lets me have variation in flavors, textures, etc. My base is usually unsweetened vanilla almond milk with a scoop of protein powder (usually vanilla or chocolate) and then I customize from there. This morning I had a pumpkin cheesecake one. Tomorrow is maple pecan.

Yes - I did Slim Fast eons ago. They are high in sugar, not filling, taught me nothing about portion control, and I re-gained the weight I lost.

If you are not losing weight under your current method....then you are eating more than you think, or burning less than you think, or have not given it enough time, or you have a medical condition.

It's not the method that prevents you from losing. It's generally in the "accounting" for your food / portions that gets messed up. You can eat foods you enjoy and still lose weight. Have you tried a food scale?

Here are a couple threads with lots of information
