Depo and weight loss

Hi everyone,

I've been on the Depo shot for about 3 and a half years now, and ever since I've been on it, have had a hard time losing weight. Has anyone else had this problem?

    I used to be on depo, but I became crazy emotional and gained a lot of weight. Talked to my obgyn and she changed my birth control to the pill. Been losing weight ever since. Maybe after the 3 months your shot wears off you could explore other options.

    No. When I started Depo, my appetite increased, I ate more and gained weight. But once I started logging my intake and being diligent, the weight came off easily.

    Gained an absurd amount of weight on depo. Ask your healthcare provider about other options. Ex: the patch & nuvaring aren't daily, but monthly options.
