Hello, I'm a 55 year old type 2 diabetic. I also have tried every diet under the sun. I currently am eating clean but no meat for the last two months. My problem is no matter what diet and workout plan I'm on, I always begin well and end up sick..( achy, flu like, no energy) for at least a week. A real set back on my workouts. I'm so tired of it..also, every now and then, I have a good day with energy..but, mostly after working out, I'm just done for the day. I've had multiple test done and other than my thyroid and diabetes ..they've found nothing else..( thank God!). I have always lost weight so very slow..2 to 4 pounds a month at best. I get frustrated with the scale.. My A1C however is really good now with a 6.6.. So, all that being said..anyone out there with a story like mine!? I have yo- to dieted all my life. I really want to finish this once and for all. I have to lose about 55 lbs. I stopped smoking 24 yes ago and gained 70 lbs and never got it all off..any feedback is welcomed.

A healthy, sustainable loss is .5 lb. per week for every 25 lbs. you're overweight—so you're doing way better than you think!
I have Hashimoto's (autoimmune thyroid disease). Meds (in my case, Synthroid & Cytomel) reduce the fatigue so I can be more active. But I still kept gaining until I learned to log everything I eat & drink accurately & honestly. Logging works.
I followed the advice in the Sexypants post: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p10 -
I can't say that I've had that issue except being diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I hope you the best and you figure out what's triggering it. Have you thought of taking Vitamin B suppliments? It can sometimes help with fatigue, but I honestly don't know much.
I was born in Georgia. Currently reside in Alabama on the border so my job is located in Georgia-Columbus, GA.0 -

Have your GP test you for vitamin & mineral deficiencies. I'm low in iron, vitamin D, and vitamin B12.0 -
Thank you for your reply. I will start taking the vitamins to see if it helps..I'll keep you posted..
