How accurate is MFP in terms of calories burnt??

Whenever I use machines at the gym. the amount of calories it says I have burnt is a lot lower than MFP.
I have no idea what to believe or if they're both wrong. beginner here, be nice!

I would go with the lower number (even though the machines at the gym can still be high), ESPECIALLY if you are going to be eating back your exercise calories. Better safe than sorry!0

I go by what is here but try to eat less than half the calories back. I do not think anything that does not have a heart rate monitor attached can be very accurate.0
