Workout for newbie.

Hi there.
I am absolute newbie in case of working out and trying to loose some weight by exercising. Never been to the gym, never tried to do some weights etc. I looked on you tube and amazon for inspiration. Bought few workout DVD's and... they are too hard! I can barely finish whole 30 minutes of jumping and stretching myself
Now I'm doing only some cardio on cross trainer but I feel that will not be enough to loose lots of kg (as planned!)!
Is there is anyone who can help me to set up nice routine / propose some exercises that will fit to newbie with no condition and body strength at all? Or just simply give some good advice what to do?

It's ok if it seems too hard. Push through as much as you can, take breaks when you need it, and just try to get to the end even if you need an extra rest to get there. You will get to the point you can finish. Every week you will notice you make it a little further as long as you push yourself. Starting out is really really hard and can be discouraging. I usually find the first 2 or so weeks to be the worst but as I realize that I've made it a little further through my workout or did a couple more reps I gain more motivation and confidence.0

Hi, I think the first thing we need to know is what you think you will enjoy. Do you like cardio? running? in the gym or outside? do you like workout videos at home or classes at the gym? Do you want to use the weight machines at the gym or the free weights? Do you have a gym membership? do you want one?
don't worry about finding the videos hard, no-one finds them easy at first, you've got to ease into it!

Hi Karen.
I am exercising at home now, as I feel a bit embarrassed to go to the gym. At my local studio there is a lot of people who stares, when I try to push through (especially gents - they stares on my chest floating around) I am thinking of getting membership when my weight will drop and I will be more courageous and confident about myself. For now I have got magnetic cross trainer home as I can't run due to long head muscle injury. Also I've got some simple, fitness weights (I think there is 1kg, 2kg and 2,5kg).

Walk Away the Pounds are perfect for beginners. Leslie Sansone has 100s of videos and a lot of extras like strength bands, weight and more. She even has some dance and jogging in some of her videos. She starts with 1 mile and goes up to 5. I have been using these for years. I always find myself going back to them because I am not coordinated and other videos tend to make me frustrated, so I never want to do them again.
21 Day Fix has an awesome modification program. Just watch the girl doing the modified movements.
DDP Yoga is a great workout for beginners. I have degenerative disc disease, osteoarthritis in my hips and crooked shoulder injuries. I find the stretching and fluid movements to help with my arthritis and still get my heart rate going.
Daily Burn is an online streaming which works on many devices. The monthly fee is nominal for the workouts you get. They have a True Beginner program that is great. I really enjoy it.
If you like dancing, Zumba is great. I find myself getting frustrated because, again the coordination. But, I found a video that took more time explaining all the dance moves. I'm still working on that LOL , but its fun.
The trick for me has always been to find something that is fun. With WATP, after you do the video once and get the basics down you can do like I do and mute her while you listen to your own music.
Lastly, there are great YouTube channels which offer beginner to advance workouts. I know Leslie Sansone has a few of her WATP on there. BeFit, BeFitin90, are great. Fitness Blender is one of my faves because they purposely make theirs with no music so you can listen to your own; or none at all.
Sparkpeople has free exercise videos on their site and on YouTube. A lot of beginner ones.0 -

I like Zumba a lot. When I was younger I was attending some fitness classes (fitness step)I have got some dvd's which gives me sweat! Love the "Zumba belly dancing" one as it is not so intense and fast. Coordinating movements is same problem here.
Frustrating!0
