Exercise Victory!

I am still not addicted to exercise the way I am to chocolate, but last night after talking myself into rowing/using the elliptical (there's gotta be a verb for that...ellipticalling doesn't flow right...), I was feeling REALLY good and still pretty pumped up for a) working out instead of crashing like I wanted to, and b) from the workout itself. So I took the dog for a walk!
[The "down" side to walking the dog is that we both wanted to run. I, however, wanted to run in a straight line. Earl wanted to run after the bunny, then over there to sniff that particular piece of grass, then in the opposite direction to sniff a tree, etc. ]

Congrats to you! Having an exercise high is a good thing! However, having a dog that insists on going 20 different directions for every other step...not so fun! You will get addicted to exercise in time, though nothing is quite like the chocolate addiction..yummy!0

Try 2 little dogs who not only go in different directions but manage to do some knitting with their leads while they are doing it.
Off lead walks are much easier!0 -
That sounds like my dog. Your dog's name is Earl?.... I LOVE IT!!0

True, but I have a greyhound - can't walk him off a leash or I'd never see him again.0 -
 When I try to run with my puppy, she thinks we're playing and just keeps jumping up on me.0

Earl's path sounds more interesting. What after all, was on the other end of your straight line? Probably just another straight line. Earl had an objective. He was on bunny patrol, while you were just out fooling around.0

Awesome !!! I think it takes a while to become addicted to excercise LOL! Kudos on doing it anyway ...the feeling afterwards is always great! It sounds like it made your dog feel great too!0

I know the feeling. I have 2 little chiuaua dogs and they tangle themselves and my legs up all the time with their leashes.0 -

I have a boxer, so I feel your pain! Usually, if he can get a good sniff in before hand for a bit, he'll run in front of me or beside me... as long as we're on asphalt... with no trees, other dogs, etc around... Squirell!0 -
PS - isn't is awesome how, once you get that stinkin' thinkin' (ya know - the cry baby in us all that says 'I don't wanna!!!!!') harnessed - it really is amazing what you can do! If there is anything my body has taught me, it's that it is capable of SO MUCH MORE than the cry baby in my head thinks it is!0
