I would appreciate any advice on adjusting my macros. I am 44yr female, 5'1", 152#. MFP had my carbs at 50%, 30% fat, and 20% protein. I made the following adjustments:

1230 total daily calories

Carbs 30% - 92g
Fat 35% - 48g
Protein 35% = 108g

I need to get down to at least 130, although I would be thrilled to get down to 120.

I am a picky eater and these are the things that I like to eat when trying to eat healthy:

Chicken, salmon, fish, shrimp, pork, steak, hard boiled eggs, raw vegetables such as carrots, celery, green leafy salads, cabbage, tomatoes, and peppers (I hate cooked veggies), fruit (I am a big fruit eater), and some nuts/seeds (pumpkin seeds, chia, peanuts, and cashews), and wheat bread. I also eat peanut butter, drink milk, water, and eat dark chocolate. I think this is about all that I have on my list of foods to eat during the day.

I welcome any ideas on how to adjust/tweak this to help me lose weight. My biggest problem is eating over my calories because I get hungry. So I thought maybe if I adjusted the macros then I would be fuller.

Just play around with your macros until you find what's comfortable. As long as you're in a caloric deficit you will lose weight.

Hi :) I am 5' , 54 and started at150 in December..... I just hit my goal weight of 120 using those exact macros :) The key for me was hitting the protein macro and fats and let carbs take what was left. If you go over on a macro, go over on protein. Just remember not to get discouraged towards the end. The last 8pounds took me as long to lose as the first 22....... Sometimes as slow as half pound every two or three weeks :s. Best wishes <3

I am a 53-year old female, 157 lbs., 5'3" and just paid to have my macros adjusted. In the past three weeks since, I have lost 5.5 lbs. and have not been hungry. I had been trying to eat just 1200 calories a day and even then had hit a plateau with my weight. My updated targets are 1354 calories (110 g. carbs, 46 g. fat, 125 protein). It's working GREAT! I agree with Sandcastles61 that the protein target is the key to feeling satisfied.
