have experience in weight lifting but not so much with diet

Hey guys I've been working out for about a year and a half now, but Im not really sure what to eat and how to count. I have tried to research this stuff in the past, but i just dont understand the whole counting calories and managing the amounts of fats. Im looking for people that can help introduce me to different diets, tips, and generally how to count my calories.

    Don't starve yourself ...stupid I know...im nit the best at this I try to eat smaller portions and have smaller meals throughout the day

    3 small meals and 2 largish snacks that could count as 5 small meals

    Ooos 5 meals total that may have came out strange I eat smaller meals throughout the day being diabetic
