Partially ruptured achilles tendon and exercise

Hey all... Was hoping to get some advice. Last summer I partially ruptured my Achilles tendon and I'm still in pain most days. With the injury and being in a boot for months I ended up gaining a lot of weight. I really want to slim down again but so far the injury has been holding me back. Mu doctor said I shouldn't run again, so that idea is out. I also used to love boxing but that puts a lot of strain on the achilles. Any suggestion for exercises that won't cause further damage to my injury?

I'd get suggestions from a physical therapist.
While healing from my fractured left fibula and peroneal& achilles tendonosis in my right leg, I'd picked up cycling.0 -
