Do exercise machines know what you weigh?!

I'm so confused, none at my gym I have just joined ask for your weight, so do they automatically weigh you and give you an "estimation" of calories burned?

Sometimes there is a setting for that, if not, then they do not know your weight. But their calorie burns are far from accurate.

Get a HRM instead.

What type are you using? Precor will not ask for your weight, you have to go to options to enter it.

A lot more accurate than machines or MFP.

I'm not sure about, can't make out what type they are. I use a Polar H7 sensor, which syncs with most cardio equipment and let my Heart rate control the levels/resistance/incline. That way when I go to different gyms with different equipment that's the one thing that will be constant. Will also sync with Iphone or android.

Nothing is going to be accurate, not even those so called formulas from all those different sites. Some HRM will be more accurate than others
