Does anybody else feel particularly sleepy while in a deficit? I eat 1750 so I'm not overly restricting however I find myself tired (not fatigued, just like I'm ready for bed) at about 1:30pm. I get a good eight hours sleep in at night too.

Many people feel that way, deficit or no deficit. That's siesta or power nap time if you can work it into your schedule.

I'm always more tired on a deficit. I try to have an afternoon snack and a coke zero in the afternoon, and pay extra attention to getting enough sleep.

you've probably cut out a lot of sugar and carbs, stuff that typically gives you some energy.

try having an apple in the afternoons. i read somewhere once that it has the same amount of energy as a can of soda, so try having one when you are getting sluggish in the afternoon.

Notice if your sleepiness changes depending on what you had for lunch. I would have been sleepy after your lunches on Tuesday and Wednesday (because of the source of carbs and higher percentage of carbs), but not Thursday and Friday. YMMV.

I have MORE energy when eating at a deficit because I am focusing on cutting on foods that make me sleepy, and since I have more energy, I am also exercising more and sleeping better.

I was at first but you've just made me realise that it has worn off. I suppose my body has adjusted!

Try drinking an extra glass of water when you get sleepy. :)

Lately this is me! I can't keep my eyes open and have to lie in the couch for 30 minutes or so to snap out of it. I eat well and don't have a lot of trigger foods or anything that would be causing it. When it hits me I feel like I just need a Pepsi but I avoid that and nap! Lol. I was hoping it wasn't overtraining but I'm not sore or have any other signs so I figure it's just my body needing rest from the weights and cardio and probably a few times it's also hormones.

Me too! Some nights I'm in bed by 8pm. But that's also so I don't start eating more when I've hit my calories for the day. When It's late at night and I'm sleepy I tend to binge more... So I'll take my 8pm bedtime.
