So that's how onions make people
You could definitely take a zero off that 230.

LOL. I seriously would cry. Thank you all for verifying this. I was very confused... Found one that says 15calories. Much better!0 -
just go by the onions, raw listing since it's from the usda0

Some of the calorie counts in the MFP database are seriously screwed up. I'm not sure if it's simple typos, bad math, people transcribing their random guesses or deliberate trolling. Probably all of them.
When in doubt, google the phrase "calories in blah" and crowdsource comparison numbers from two or three other sites. I default to whatever the middling/high number is. Then enter whatever portion size you need to generate the correct number. The portion size might look odd, but accuracy>public perception.0 -
Hm. I never thought about trolling but now that I think of it...the other day I was entering a recipe and I got 0 calories for one cup uncooked rice.0

Slices...mmmmm,pizza!0

So weird to troll a diet/exercise website... and yes, "mmmmm, pizza!", indeed.0

I don't even bother tracking onion because the calorie count is so low.0

I would pick a different entry and estimate the grams. You could eat a whole onion and not see 230 calories.0
