so, i'm thinking about referring my husband to mfp, but *not* for weightloss! he has the perpetual trim, athletic build that probably won't ever go away, at least not until he hits 45, and even then only if he decides to eat nothing but double-fried food forever! (yeah, i'm a tad jealous)

however, he's about to be off from teaching for the summer and is interested in p90x - do you think it's alright for someone to join just for the fitness support groups? what say you?

ABSOLUTELY!! That's a huge part of ANY fitness goal, whether to lose weight, tone up or lower your cholesterol, you need support regardless of what outcome you want =)

It is all about fitness, no matter what you weigh. Telling him to try it out.

I would tell him to sign up. My husband is on here but not for weight lost, he is on here to keep record of his workouts and get advice on his workout program (P90X).

Haha...I actually joined so I could track my calories to make sure I was meeting my calorie minimums (my goal is to gain weight).

Why not?! My husband joined a few weeks ago just to try to maintain. He has trouble keeping weight on, yeah I know barf. He is trying to build muscle too.
