Logging Food

I don't know if I am obsessed of pathetic, but I find that since getting involved in MFP I can not eat ANYTHING unless I log it. I'm not complaining and there are much worst things I could be doing but I find I need to log it all first, there is absolutely no danger of not getting enough food, or me going hungry. I guess it's not a bad thing but I was wondering if others found themselves in this situation. ...and if you have a funny story to share about logging your food....

Oh my yes, I ate 5 M&M's yesterday and had to figure out what .3 of a serving was. I'm obsessed. I find myself looking things up before I eat. Like today at lunch- I had my choice between 2 meals - I looked up both then ate the one with the lower calories and what I thought would be most filling, even thought it wasn't the one I wanted. I wanted PIZZA... but it was too many calories- ate 1/2 turkey sandwich instead. Damn MFP-- :laugh:0

I do the same thing - I like to plan for the day - I write out what my daily meals and snacks will be - then I log it in MFP - and I make adjustments before I even eat. I think I do this for a couple of reasons - one is because I can be in better control before I eat - I am able to undo a decision before I eat it - if I eat first and have gone over then I really can't do much about it, and I think psychologically it helps me to be involved with my food - just like when I am cooking - I just love to touch it, prepare it, clean it, cut it up, shop for it...which is probably why I am here and have had a weight problem all my life. I think it makes me feel like I have control over the food instead of it having control over me this way.0

I do it also...like I was so amazed to find out that one almond is 7 calories. One!!! And who would have thunk 5 months ago to feel guilty about drowning your salad in Ranch dressing because we had to ensure that no green was visible in the bowl. BTW...a large egg is 70 calories, but if you do not eat the yolk, 5 egg whites are only 64 calories...smh!!!0

Yup! I have the app on my Android and I hardly ever go out, but went to a pub mid day with my hubby a few weeks back and sat there with the menu and my phone trying to decide what to order. I got a house salad (veggies only) no croutons, with a vinagrette on the side (I almost asked what was in the vinagrette, seriously, but it was really spicy and I only used maybe a teaspoon anyway) Oh, and I drank water with a lemon wedge after looking up the calories in the beer on tap. So, yeah, you are not alone, for sure!!0

Oh my god, yesss. Today for dinner, my mum & I both had microwavable ready meals since we were out late and needed a quick dinner when we came home. I tried not even a spoonful of her meal, yet I had to log it for the 10 or so calories it came out as, LOL. I'm obsessed.
I plan out all my meals and snacks for the day using the app on my iPhone, then create a new note in the notes app and write down the times in which I should consume the meals so they are nice and evenly spaced out. -_- Sometimes results in me eating when I'm not hungry - but most of the time it keeps me from feeling hungry, knowing that it's only 20 minutes or so until I get to eat.
I'm maintaining now though, I really need to try and be less controlling over this.0
