I've been on a 1200 cal diet for a while now yet my weight is holding steady at 140lbs. Ideally I should be 120-125. What am I doing wrong? Diet is filled of protein and vegetables and fruit each day so I don't understand whats wrong. Any suggestions ?

How long have you been stuck? Do you weigh everything you eat? Do you eat back exercise calories? Can you open your diary?

This is probably a logging issue. If you open your diary, you may get some useful advice.

How long have you been stuck for?

Do you use a food scale to measure everything you eat?

If it is a short time hold on weight loss, things like your TOM, a meal high in salt, or starting a new exercise program can make you hold onto some water weight. Which is temporary.

With me.... it is what I eat and how much I eat of it that tells the story so I agree....compare your diary entries of when you were losing to where you have been over the past month and see what is going on. It is difficult to process, but just because it is a low cal carb does not mean that you can indulge. Keep them to a minimum and if God made it....you can eat it. If man made it....(processed or out food)....then keep it at a minimum or not at all.

no! its all about calories in/calories out, you are likely eating too much without realising it and thats why people are asking if you weigh your foods etc

When it comes to weight loss only its calories in calories out.

I also wonder... if I don't believe in God, does that mean I can't eat anything?

I'm curious as to how this works. Going by this, can I not have meat? Dairy? Does this mean all you can ever eat is basically fruit and veg? Even then, can I not eat anything that's peeled or cooked? No bananas, no oranges? Do I have to wait until the fruit has dropped off the tree itself? Do I have to eat it exactly as it is, can I not cut it up or anything?

But seriously, OP, look into how accurate you're measurements really are. If you've recently increased your exercise, your body could hold onto some extra water to help recover your muscles. Same thing with increasing foods with sodium, you'll hold some water. If this is a short-lived stands till, I wouldn't worry too much. Just don't give up. Time will pass by, whether you stick to your goals or not, so you may as well stick with them.

I have been stuck for about a month or so. I do weigh stuff and no don't eat back exercise calories. Regardless if I work out my goal is 1200 cal a day max 1250. According to calculations my body needs 1700 to maintain. Any calories burned exercising is just an added bonus of calories deficit that day..thats how I look at it anyways
    Tips?

There is just one day entered in, is that right? Just today? And you only had some rice and beans all day? If so, all I can say is not to use cups but measure (on a digital scale) all your food in grams. Cups are entirely unreliable and especially with something like rice and beans, a few grams extra can have a huge impact on the calories. Keep logging for a while (in measured grams!) and see how much over your calories you are, because I suspect you are eating more calories than you think.

Oh no I think my mobile app isn't synced! I'm fasting fr Ramadan so just have dinner each night. Will definitely try the grams and hopefully I see the difference. Also can anyone help me with the whole bmr and calorie maintainece explanation..mone says my bmr is 1360 while my calorie maintainece rate is 1500-1600 calories a day. From what I understand I should try to stuck to my bmr rate at least? Problem is that just gives a small deficit..140 a day. Any thoughts?
