I wasn't sure where exactly to ask this but I would like to find out.
When you sweat while working out are you lowering your sodium levels? I have trouble keeping my sodium under control some days and work out everyday, am I balancing it out somehow or am I trying to placate myself in thinking so??
What do you think?

Yes when you sweat you lower your sodium levels but there's no way to know just how much. You still want to keep your sodium intake below 2000mg a day.

I just googled .... " The amount of sodium in sweat averages about 500 mg sodium/lb sweat ..." So 500 mg per pound of sweat would be a lot of sweat, lol. :)

wow a pound of sweat lol. well a gallon is 8 pounds I think to put that in perspective. So I would say that if I go 50mg or so over I shouldn't worry too much but if I go over a lot its probably not a good thing.

Weigh yourself before and after a workout. After a hard ride on the bike, it's not uncommon to for me to be 1-2 lbs under my starting weight, due to fluid loss. This is after drinking 8-16oz of water per hour. So it's certainly possible to lose sizable amounts of electrolytes while exercising, depending on the exertion level and the duration.
