New but a little confused!

Hi, I started yesterday by setting up my account and linked it with my Endomondo account so that I could access nutrition (food diary) from it. I also linked my iPhone to Myfitnesspal to record my steps. All seemed okay but when I went for a 5+k walk my Endomondo tracked me and registered 600+ calories burned and Myfitnesspal logged my steps and 400+ calories. It didn't show it as an exercise from Endomondo so taking it that I would have to input exercise manually how do you compensate for the calories already awarded through your steps? As it was I didn't record the exercise which meant that if I did burn 600+ calories then my daily count was 200 or so more than I actually reached.
Any help would be great...

go to http://www.myfitnesspal.com/account/diary_settings and check the box
Calorie Adjustments:
-Enable Negative Adjustments
That should help giving you a more accurate burn estimate.
