Do it without him! Worked for me! He is proud of my accomplishments and doesn't try to undo my progress, but it's not what he wants for him. It is what I want for me. So, I did it without him!0

Just no, it doesnt work. Focus on your own weight loss and take responsibility for it. Its a bad idea expecting the other person to get involved and ends up being an excuse for why you arent knuckling down and making your own progress. 10lbs wont take you long to lose. The suggestion is leave him alone.0

well two years have passed and i would still be waiting for us to be on board at the same time. just get on with it, he will catch up if and when ready. good luck0

Just do it. My husband doesn't need to lose weight at all. He is not 100% on board with how I'm going about my journey. He thinks I should be able to eat whatever I like as long as I exercise every single day (like he does). I have mentioned to him a couple of times that I need to get back to my slimmer self before I can do that - and actually, I don't think I'll ever be able to do that again due to combination of age, hormones and metabolism not being what it used to be like pre baby. He is also jealous of my PT I think (she's a girl, not even a guy...) because the few rare times I have mentioned my work-outs he finds things wrong with them such as I shouldn't be doing deadlifts because it's bad for you and why aren't I doing 5000000000 sit ups per day to get rid of my belly.
Well that was a rant! Sorry! My point was - just do it for yourself!0 -
What Im doing is eating seperate meals to my wife and kids. No reason why they should labour under my restrictions.0

I did this for me and my wife did not join me. over the last year she has lost some wieght as well as I have not been buying potato chips and snacks, but this is your journy not his. You need to d what is right for you.0

The last time I hit goal and was in the best shape of my life - he wasn't supportive. His lack of support reinforced my fierce determination. Funny how that works - push me, tell me I can't do something, and well just watch me!0

I'm a firm believer that we cannot equate choosing not to participate in your weight loss or health or fitness efforts with being unsupportive. To me, an unsupportive family or friend is one who actively undermines your weightloss efforts by doing something like adding something to your food to raise the calories, failing to come home on time on purpose so you can't get to the gym, criticizing what you are doing, etc. Barring anything like that, your partner's choice not to follow what you're doing to lose the weight should have no bearing whatsoever on the outcome of your program. If you are truly motivated to get healthy, you will do it on your own.0

My love eats what I cook, which is our normal foods... I just eat smaller portions than what he does. If he's still hungry, he'll find more to eat. And in the meantime I'm losing weight for me.0
