I don't work overnights - but I do work 2nd shift and I am a night owl. Bedtime isn't usually until 3 or 4am most days. Sleep til noon. :)

It's midnight. I'm talking to several people in Kuwait/Iraq. Gotta love the 8 hour differences that rob you of sleep before work!

Yup- gotta love the night shift...or hate it!! LOL! I work nights but my schedule is different week to week as to what day s I work so it's always 12 hour shifts but different days! Crazy on the body for sleep and especially for meals!

Kim I used to do 10 "on" and 4 "off" well that turned out to be a problem, I would get used to teh hours by day 8 or 9...so then when my 4 days "off" would come around, I had a very difficult time adjusting, I would be awake all night, it was horrible.

I now do a 5 on and 2 off, works better for me.

The only thing I really hate about the Overnigth shift is that no matter how much sleep you get you are always tired and unmotivated to do anything but sleep....need to fight that!

Yes, it is hard on the body working night-shift. my scedule just changed again, I work 7 on 7 off 7p-7a.. It's crazy because when I'm off like you said Mellow the energy level is zero. But working out has helped so much!!

  • NIGHT SHIFTER here......thank goodness I have the next couple nights off!! I find night shift to be the best for me, I have been working it since 2003, except for a year and a half of days.....and lemmie tell ya....for ME....I get way more done working overnights. After work I usually work out and run errands and whatnot....when I work days....I have to drink 2 pots of coffee....one to wake up + another to keep me up.....terrible :) I have sleep issues as well but it isn't too bad. I figure if I need it it will happen :)
