Try the alternate ones. On your knees push-ups or even standing push-ups.

When I joined the army I couldn't do one. By the end of two months I could do 50 in two minutes. What happened in between? It's all a painful blur, but I do recall doing a ton of attempts before I could get one full proper form pushup. I recommend starting on your knees and just keep trying. Adding other chest exercises will help, too, like flies while lying on the floor. Start with small weights and work your way up. One last tip - once you can do them, keep doing them. I stopped and 15 years later here I am again having to do pushups on my knees. I keep hearing drill sergeants yelling at me.

yes just take yoru time and slowly build them up, try and do as many regular as possible, then do them on your knees, then build them up, it takes time like any work out.

I hate doing them on my knees, so I use a staircase. Just stand at the foot of a staircase, and then lean onto whichever step is easiest to do them. Does that make sense???

You can also do something that is called push-up negatives. what you basically do is slowly lower yourself down to the proper push-up position. Hold it for a few seconds and lay flat on your stomach. Next, push yourself up with the assistance of your knees. Hopefully this makes sense and can help you out

Thank you all! Will keep trying. Will aim for being able to a least 10-20 per day to start with.
