I eat a lot when I'm under stress. I've recently gained 15 lbs and I need to lose it plus 5 lol. I also work at night so my eating schedule is all off so I just grab and eat as I go, mostly junk. Any recommendations to help me keep this under control will be much appreciated.

I worked weird over night hours - I would cook a huge amount on my day off and prepare my own frozen meals. usually chicken, rice, and a green vegetable. Or chili, soups, beef dishes. Everything was measured before freezing. I also invested in a good quality thermos, freezer ice paks, lots of plastic containers, large lunch box - I also made my coffee at home. (helps me avoid 7/11 or dunkin doughnuts - It took some experimenting -

For breakfast - hard boiled eggs - cooked/shells removed the night before or a really simple omelet. Hard boiled eggs can be cooked the day before - I took the shells off while the eggs were still hot. French toast/pancakes can also be made ahead & frozen. Tip - place wax paper between each serving of pancakes/French toast

Rubbermaid makes small containers - great for salad dressing or condiments

To pack my "lunch box" I would prepare the "extras" the night before - cut up vegies, wash fruit etc
I placed plastic utensils, napkins, disposable salt/pepper & wet wipes in the outside pocket of the lunch box
I kept a stash of protein bars, low calorie pudding, apple sauce, pretzels, animal crackers, yogurt, salad fixings, cottage cheese at home - just measure & put in a ziplock bag or plastic container.

Salads can be made the night before - measure & keep the dressing in a separate container.
omelets - prepare the stuffing the night before -

Yes work can be hell, busy demanding etc - having food right there with me helped. When I worked in a DOD office - I would leave my lunchbox in the car- go out to my car to escape the crazy office - eat and still have time to take a walk and relax.

Yes it is a lot of prep work - however I would have healthy, well balanced meals- while my co-workers ate crap

email anytime! YOU CAN DO THIS!!

Don't think of yourself as being someone who eats under stress, and don't describe yourself like that.

Tell yourself you are able to get the job done on your own merits. Food isn't anything to do with the task at hand.

You're a person who can take or leave food. You can do this!

Oh and along-the journey - be kind to yourself.... we all make bad choices sometimes - the trick is to learn from them, smile and keep trying. If you take a quick look bad over your life - the things You stressed over last week, 2 years ago etc. -how important are they right here right now?

Quote "When I argue with reality, I'm only wrong 100 percent of the time." - Byron Katie
