What does it mean when people reply "bump" in a forum?

It tends to mean they are marking it for later review

Suggest "bump" means to bring the thread/forum back to the top of the "recent" list, by posting a "bump".

It sticks the topic to the "My Topics" section. Folks do this so they don't lose a thread and they can go back later and read it. It's like tagging it for yourself for later. Of course replying by adding your own post does the same thing.

    OR

Some people bump a post to bring it back up to the top of everyone's "My Topics" to keep it in play.
