My worst habit is night eating- what's the best time to eat dinner so your full through until bedtime.
For me too early and I'm hungry by 10, too late and I want to keep eating ad I eat more.
Also---any night time after dinner snacks that are good for the waistline?

None if you've already met your calorie goal for the day. If not, anything that fits is a good snack. Maybe not something with caffeine if you want to sleep.0

As terrible as this sounds, I'll be honest- I generally go to bed "hungry". I eat plenty of food with plenty of fiber and protein and drink over 120 oz of water each day, but am always a little hungry before bed. I feel that a lot of our bodies are just so used to overeating.
If I absolutely have to have something, I'll pop a bag of 100 calorie popcorn and that satisfies the hunger as well as the habit of eating. Otherwise, I fight the craving and just go to bed. Unless you sleepwalk, you won't eat while you're asleep0 -
I'm a night time eater too, or at least that's when I seem to be more hungry. I eat very light during the day so that the majority of my calories can be saved. This way I'm able to eat dinner and my snacks without going over. It works well for me and has actually worked very well to prevent nighttime binge eating when I'm able to plan accordingly.0

If I'm hungry after dinner I'll have a piece of fruit, dark chocolate or peanut butter. Works for me.0

I tend to eat an early dinner--done by 5:30, and I'm fine until the next day. I used to WANT to snack at night, but now I just get in bed nice and early (around 9pm), unwind with some tv and am up early the next day. I don't know why exactly I stopped craving those nighttime snacks, but I guess at some point I realized I've already used up my calories, I've simply had enough for today.0

I do the same thing. I think of it as binging within my calories.

Have you tried Intermittent Fasting?
I'm a late night eater/snacker too....so I just save all my calories for night-time and go to bed full and happy.
Meal timing is irrelevant .....it comes down to calories in and calories out.0 -
Thanks everyone! I am going to save my calories for the pm and try that...I think I'll be a happier camper with more indulgence at night.

I have been reading things (yeah, I know, dangerous...LOL) but anyway, I have learned casein protein is good to have at night if you want to eat. It is in greek yogurt and cottage cheese, or of course you can find it in supplement form. According to bodybuilder.com, one of the best sources is ricotta cheese. I get the part skim, add a tsp of cocoa powder and a packet of stevia. I only have 1/4 cup, and a big glass of ice water or green tea. Casein protein is slow digesting, so it helps you keep from getting so hungry. It also helps keep your body from catabolizing your muscle for energy which is important. Muscle burns fat, and I don't want to lose it!!!

I eat dinner around 8:30 most nights and I'm in bed by 10. I also have a good sized snack around 4:30 that usually gets me through to dinner...if not, I plan in a smallish snack around 6:30 or so. Usually I have a smallish breakfast and a reasonable lunch...but I eat most of my calories after 4.0
