My story/My goals

Hi, My name is April. I'm a 29 year old single/divorced mother of 2 girls ages 7&9. Right now I'm at my highest weight I've ever been at 270lbs(first time i've admitted that in public). and just two years ago I was at 220lbs. I've struggled with my weight since i've had kids, went thru depression, health problems and every time I tried to lose weight i'd fall right back into bad habits and more health issues(including a full hysterectomy in 2012).
Something exciting is happening in 5 months, the day before my 30th birthday, and I want to be skinnier and make the moment memorable and enjoyable by being thinner than i am and healthier than i am currently. I will be going to my first Supernatural convention and getting a picture with Misha Collins!!!!! I'm a HUGE fan of the show and I'm SO excited that my best friend bought these tickets for us to go! (although i'm sad im not going to be there ON my birthday, which is also the day that Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki will be there, because i love them both too). Point being, I dont want to be out of breath walking around, and i would LIKE Misha to be able to wrap his arms around me and me not feel insecure and i'd like to enjoy the moment(ill enjoy it either way but im sure you know what i mean.)
I need as much support as possible, tips, advice on beginning/easy workouts, advice/tips on eating/recipes, people to talk to that are going thru what I am and understand. I am an emotional eater, i admit that now. I'm new here, add me if you'd like.
P.S. anyone else LOVE the show Supernatural?

I love love love the show, but I only caught up to mid-season 7 so don't tell me what happens ;-) How exciting to get to a SN convention!0

Hi April! Best advice I can give is start with small goals and work your way to a healthier you from there. Write it down in a place you have to look at several times a day or set a reminder on your phone...start with something small like a 15-30 minute walk with your girls, cooking a healthy dinner together once or twice a week. I've tried to include my 8 year old twins in as much of my changes as possible, some they have fun with and others they tried it and left it at that. Feel free to add me, I log daily and my diary is open. I started my lifestyle change in May 2014. I'm down 61 lbs, slow and steady and not allowing myself to call this a diet has been a life saver...literally! I'm off all my meds for BP, type 2 diabetes & cholesterol with all normal #'s as of last months check up!! No fad diets, no secrets to share, just eating right (for me) and exercising!0

Consistency is everything.
Even if its just a 30 minute walk.
May not sound like much, but daily over 5 months will make big changes, both mental and physical.
And your girls can come with!0
