Hi!

I was just wondering if any of you were willing to share some handy tips / tricks about what exercise etc to do after you've been for a run or a jog. As in, what truly helps you to lose weight and leave you feeling toned? :)

Thanks very much

Losing weight is just eating at a deficit. Workouts and running are about fitness.

After a run, I like to stretch and feel like a badass.

Same here. I make sure to stretch my Psoas muscle, my quads, calves, and hamstrings especially.

cut your calories to lose weight...ie diet. exercise for fitness.

I cycle about 60 - 80 miles per week and run a 5K once or twice per week...I like walking my dog and doing a little swimming and some hiking and I lift 2-3x per week. I have lost weight, maintained weight, and gained weight doing all of those things. The difference between those three weight management goals was my consumption, not what exercise I was doing.

That said, I would highly recommend doing some kind of resistance training in addition to cardio. I would do these things on alternate days. If you do them on the same day, I'd give some recovery time in between...for example, I have two-a-days on Mondays and Thursdays....on Monday I usually do a 5K in the AM and lift in the evening...Thursday is usually a short ride of about 15 miles in the AM and lift in the evening.
