baby food diet

I have been thinking about the things I eat and drink, and have noticed the times when my little boy wants some of what I'm having. Coffee excluded, I'm thinking that if I can't give it to my little one, should I really be eating or drinking it??? Just a thought- haven't put it into motion yet.

I don't think you can really go by that theory... for example, children can't digest cow's milk until they are 1 year old because they don't have the enzymes to break it down yet or children under 2 or 3 can't have honey. Both of those things are considered clean, whole foods.0

The babyfood diet is a diet that a lot of people with eating disorders use...... be careful I wouldn't suggest it.0

I think someone's guilty of only reading the headline. :laugh:0 -
In the UK its said that kids can have honey after their first birthday.
I guess in theory it can work. We do baby led weaning with our boy anyway, I don't think its very popular in america. But essentially he just has everything that we eat, whole, fresh, nothing pureed or mushed and he feds himself. I've never fed him. He went straight to 'proper' food at 6 months, and has been a great eater since then . Its really encouraged us to eat better as its a pain to prepare two differant meals. He's 13 months but tonight was chowing down on a veeery spicy stirfry and loved it!!
So yes, I do think if you wouldn't feed it to you baby don't eat it, its a good attitude to have, within reason as obviously there will be a few exceptions0 -

True. The pro-ana baby food diet is nothing like this. The "baby food diet" is where you eat a serving of baby food (like those little puffs or mini raviolis) for every meal.
Anyways, I think it's a pretty good idea. It'll keep you from eating a bunch of junk.0 -

I think the point of the post was missed. She isn't saying she wants to lose weight by eating her child's food. For example... if she were to eat a chicken nugget she wouldn't give it to her child, right? If it isn't nutritious enough for her child, it isn't nutritious enough for her. Correct me if I'm wrong.0 -
I'm inclined to agree, I don't think she meant a literal baby food diet! x0

In theory, yes! But then again, YOU are the parent and have to set boundaries while setting examples at the same time I have put my son on a fresh, clean organic diet called the Feingold diet due to his special needs. I also eat the same way and so does my daughter. My husband is a lost cause Obviously there are just thing that baby and children cannot and should not eat before a certain age... avoid them. Common sense. I agree with your post...0

After having my baby it totally changed the way I think about food! She is allergic to milk, and I used to drink probably 2 gallons a week by myself. But I cut it out for a while and realized I was lactose intolerant! I I had stomach pain every single day growing up and didn't know why. But humans (baby or not) are not designed to drink milk from a cow. Also I look carefully at labels because I dont want her having all those proccessed added ingredients, but I really shouldn't be eating any of that stuff either!0
