Fatigue

Hello all,
I have recently started trying to lose weight again after dropping 2 stone last year and gaining half of one back on and have dropped my calorie intake to 1560 (as recommended by mfp), I've not eliminated carbs or even deliberatly lessened them but after reviewing my diary I have limited them quite a bit over the last two weeks. I've generally eaten a lot of grilled chicken breast salads for lun
ch, snacked on big bowls of mixed fruit and had something a long of salad/meat and veg for tea. I also have porridge/cornflakes for breakfast.
But I have noticed the last few days I have felt extremely tired, not weak but as though I could just fall asleep at any minute. Is this normal when first lowering calorie intake? Is it the lack of carbs?
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks x

Lifting heavy on Keto (very low carbs) was excruciating. I almost passed out a few times at the gym. I dont do super low carb but low carb and have incorporated refeeds for 1-2 days. Refeeds have helped.0

Well, if you're eating vegetables in your salads, mixed fruit and porridge or cornflakes (all carbohydrates), lack of carbs isn't the first thing I'd suspect, unless you were mostly exclusively eating carbs before. How much did you drop your caloric intake? Did you also cut out soda or another source of caffeine?0

I dont know exactly how many calories I ate before, im guessing easily up to 2500 (hence the quick weight gain). I have never drank soda anyway but I do still drink up to 10 mugs of tea every day with skimmed milk and the odd glass of water. That has not changed since ""dieting""

How many grams of carbs are you getting in a day?
If you went from 2500(ish) to 1560, it's more likely that the cause is just the sudden caloric restriction.
The bigger question: did you set MFP to lose 2 pounds per week? And you're only trying to lose 7 pounds?0 -
As a starting point I have set it to 1lb per week with a goal of 190lb from 207lb I think. I work best when doing it that way but I do want to lose more than that in the long term.
According to mfp food diary, on average I get 127 carbs per day.0 -

Refeeds? Does that mean adding more carbs for 1-2days and then going back to normal?0 -
Keto is less than 30g carbs per day, usually. Doesn't sound that this is keto.0

I might get a checkup. 1560 isn't that low for a female who is moderately active. I noticed from your profile that you have PCOS. Could you have a thyroid problem or some other medical issue?0

Hi, yes at the time I set the profile up I did have pcos, however for an unrelated reason 6 months ago I had an Ultrasound scan and I dont have it anymore. Plus my mensral cycle has been fine since initially losing the 2st. There may be something else to it but I'm not sure. I hope not!0 -
You might be low on a vitamin. Ask your doctor for a blood workup to see, becuase if it is, that's an easy fix. But if your vitamin levels are fine and you're fatigued all the time, might be something else and you need to find out.0
