Hi all!
I would like to lose 15 lbs before conceiving. I've been up and down with success amd failure. Time is winding down and I really need to drop 15!

Babies are great motivation! I've been working on losing weight as we want to try for a baby next year (I have well over 100 lb to lose so I need time). I want to give my future child/children as well as myself the best shot at health and knew getting down to a more reasonable weight was key. You can do this!

    Good luck!

Set up MFP to lose 0.5 lbs a week. Weigh and log all your food and exercise. Eat back up to half your exercise calories.

Maybe start doing some weight training or bodyweight exercises to get your body stronger for baby-carrying. Plus, weights will make your body look better and you won't need to worry about the scales so much.

Make sure you do this under the care of a physician so as to maintain an appropriate weight for conception! Good luck!

Ahh we're kind of doing this for the same reason! I was overweight with both of my other pregnancies and hubby and I decided we would be trying again next May. Hoping to drop 40 pounds before then! Feel free to add me ladies!

The "appropriate weight for conception" is the same as appropriate weight in general. You don't need a physician for that.

    Hi ladies
Have any of you heard of Dr Marilyn Glenvill? She's an expert in women's health especially fertility.
After suffering 2 miscarriages I followed her advice and plan, lost 2 stone 7 lbs and fell pregnant with a healthy baby, continued on the plan straight after my first was born and 4 months later was pregnant again with my second lil bundle of joy which I had 11 weeks ago.
You have to give up caffein and take certain vitamins but it's amazing, you feel great and know your giving your baby the healthiest start in life. I'd recommend this to anyone who will listen. It's truly changed my life as now I have my perfect babies. Good luck conceiving everyone and hope this helps

I agree. But I've also met a lot of women who tried to lose below that amount to avoid getting above their "typical" weight during pregnancy which is unhealthy.
