I joined this site about 4 months ago. I have lost 46 pounds and to my suprise I found out I was pregnant yesterday. I know I should still watch what I eat. I don't know how many calories I should eat being preggers and I also don't know what kind of work outs I can do. I dont know how far along I am and I cant even try to find a obgyn until Tuesday. If anyone has any suggestions or advice please let me know. Thanks.

You actually don't need more than 200 calories extra. I made the mistake of just splurging while pregnant, and I had to lose 40 lbs after I delivered my baby boy. I did it, but it wasn't as easy as not gaining it in the first place. You can also work out and lift weights within moderation while pregnant, something else I wish I had continued doing while pregnant. Good luck, happy and healthy pregnancy and delivery to you!

NillaWafers is right. You can pretty much continue your regular exercises unless your OBGYN tells you otherwise (just no contact sports). Just listen to your body. Also, be sure to be taking prenatal vitamins, this will help with your energy levels and ensure that you and baby get adequate nutrition. Good luck and congrats!

I agree u shouldn't need but for a few hundred calories more, I would suggest Zumba as a nice work out that can be modified as ur belly grows! U can do it on most the gaming stations that are out there I have zumba for our Wii, or u can do it at a gym or buy the dvds.....I love it!

You can do most any low impact workout, even sit ups are okay and even some lifting, low weights of course and be sure not to overdue yourself. Continuing to eat right and exercise through out can also make delivery easier and healing and bouncing back after birth also. So, take good care of you and we will all be here for you whenever you need us! Love ya lady!! Congrats again!
