Hello All,

I'm struggling to figure out how the Leangains calculate's the Macro's for Fat's and Carbs?

Here are MY values that I'm entering into the calculator:

Website URL: www.imgur.com/6i8FCdu
or by clicking: imgur.com/6i8FCdu
  1. In GREEN, notice I set the calorie split to 0.
  2. In RED, notice the Protein intake is constant between Rest and Training day. However, notice the Fat and Carbs are calculated differently between Rest and Training. This is what I don't understand?

My Question:

Using my values entered, can someone show me how the Fat and Carbs are being calculated for both Rest and Training day? I don't understand why FAT is higher on rest days, but lower on Training days? Where is the Fat to Carb ratio calculated in? I just don't understand. I don't understand how this calculator is calculating these values and I'm going crazy trying to understand.

The calculator I am using is located here:
sareyko.net/leancalc/

Apparently, how this is calculated is here (however the website is down!!!!):
rippedbody.jp/how-to-calculate-leangains-macros/

You just arrive to a blank page. Because of this, I'm not able to find any place that really shows how this is clearly calculated.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

As near as I can tell, it's pulling out your protein calories first. Then, for rest days you're getting 75%/25% fat/carbs and on workout days that's reversed to 25%/75% fat/carbs for the remaining calories.

    Thanks DeguelloTex

However, where does this 25% and 75% ratio come from? I don't get WHY it's calculated this way. I just don't like magic numbers.

It's all magic numbers. There's nothing special about 75/25 compared to 74/26 or 76/24 or whatever. It's just a nice, round ratio for allocating the cycle.

That's how it's doing the calculation, which is what I thought your question was. Why it does the calculation that way is in the brain of Berkhan or whomever.

Yes, that is the "how" to what's being calculated. So you have answered my initial question. I'll have to play with then numbers to see it's really 25%/75% I'm just not sure where 25/75 originates from. Being this is a calculator, why is it cooked into the calculations without some sound backing as to why it's there.

There must be some reason to these numbers. I'll have to continue to try to understand why that is.
