Looks sort of like passion fruit

Nope, it looks more like a persimmon, but the taste is different. They are kind of like an orange tomato on the outside, but the fruit and juice are a bright green.

I have a patch of wild British strawberries in my garden - tiny things, just coming to ripeness now - that blow commercial strawberries out of the water for sheer flavour! For the few weeks that I can harvest them, they're my favourite. When I can't get them, there's a local 'pick your own' farm, where we get strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and other soft fruits in summer, squashes, plums, apples and pears in the autumn. They grow varieties for flavour, not storage capability for supermarkets! In the winter, persimmon are my absolute favourite winter fruit, followed by rhubarb, satsumas and grapes. I do try my best to follow seasonal availability - I've got my first lot of cherries for a lunchtime treat today!
