Working out

I was at the gym for the first time in over a year. I was there for about 35 minutes and felt lightheaded and passed out for a bit. I ate two boiled eggs and a light english muffin before going to the gym. Is that not a sufficient meal if I plan to lift weights and use excercise bike?

Perhaps you should have a physical prior to beginning a new exercise program.0

It's a fine meal if you're eating enough all the time.
I'd see the doctor about the passing out and I wouldn't work out again until I did.0 -
35 minutes doing what? and yeah, it sounds like a fine meal, although maybe a little light on the carbs. i like some more carbs before an early workout, like a full piece of regular whole wheat toast and peanut butter, and a cup of coffee.
but it doesn't matter if you didn't eat a lot the day before.0 -
You might want to see a doctor.
Were you well hydrated?0 -
Definitely not going to find the answer here. You need to consult a physician and make sure you are physically well enough to start working out and you may meet with a trainer to get a proper starting point for your training.0

A friend of mine died from an undiagnosed heart condition. Estimates suggest that 3.7 million Americans have an undiagnosed heart condition. Heart conditions can affect everyone, regardless of age, gender or physical fitness, and can get better or worse as we age.0

People die all the time of things that could've been helped if they'd had their check-ups/physicals. (Which isn't to say that your friend would or wouldn't have been helped.)
Just a Heads Up there.

Yes, i previously had a heart murmur, but I was very active prior to my broken ankle. I played basketball at a high level two to three days a week. I believe I exerted myself too much. I was used a few machines and did four sets with 15 reps... Its way too much for a first day back. I will stick with the bike only for now.0
