Enter your stats. Chose a reasonable rate of weight loss (less than 15 lbs or so, only .5 lbs per week). Eat the amount of calories MFP tells you to. If you exercise, add it to your diary and eat a portion of those calories back.0 -

Start with what your goals are? Lose weight, gain weight or stay at the same weight? From there you can tailor how much you want to lose/gain and at what rate the loss/gain occurs. You can also tailor your macros (carb, protein, fats) for a more tailored approach to the type of foods you want to consume
I just started myself, but have had friends use the app and find results. I decided to try it out based on a vlogger I follow lol.
