Scary experience...but great NSV!

I was driving home on a rural highway and the car right in front of me suddenly veered off the road and rolled a couple of times and came to rest on the passenger side. Of course I stopped, told my kids to stay in the car and ran over to help. There was a dad and his 6 month old daughter in the car. They were both wearing seatbelts and no one was seriously injured. The NSV came when the dad got himself out of the seatbelt and then unhooked the carseat with his daughter in it. He tried to pass it up through the door window, but was so shaken up he couldn't lift her up. I reached up over the car through the window, grabbed the handle of the carseat, and lifted the baby up and out with one arm. I couldn't have done that a couple of months ago before I started lifting weights and working out! I felt so good that I was able to really help at that moment!

Just had to share.

I'm so glad everyone was ok! That had to be the scariest moment of all times for him. I'm glad you were there to help out.

That is cool and also a reminder that we are trying to be fit and strong for REAL Life, not just so we can lift a few more weights in the gym. Our bodies are meant to be used. A very timely reminder.

    Charice to the rescue!!!!
I'm sure your strength was comforting in a time of stress.

Wow! Inspiring! How awesome it's got to be to know you are capable and helpful.
nothing I hate more than feeling helpless.
It must give you a greater peace of mind to know that you are even more capable of protecting your kids in times when things don't go according to plan.

I've had that little nagging voice back of my head and I've been taking baby steps, But this has really hit home that it's time to fitter, not just thinner.

    Thank you

That is awesome, and what a great example to your children who were watching from a safe distance. I am sure the driver is still telling people about his rescuer who lifted his infant to safety. :)
