Swollen ankles

I am relatively new to exercise and am really trying to do as much as I can at home only as I can't afford a gym membership, have childcare issues & lack self-confidence! I performed 30 mins on Wii fitness followedby 15 mins of my fitness coach. Today, nearly 24 hours later I've returned from my choir rehearsal (standing and some movement for 2 hours) and have noticed both my ankles are markedly swollen. This is the second occurrence of swollen ankles in a short period - a few weeks ago I had a mainly swollen left ankle shortly after exercise.

Any ideas why this is happening & how I can prevent it? I'm aware to rest & elevate as the only other time I've had swollen ankles is shortly after the birth of my son.

Thanks xx

I get, or used to get until I lost a lot of weight, swollen ankles only when I don't exercise or move.

I'm still somewhat susceptible to this if standing on my feet the whole day however hiking or running for many hours won't cause it to occur.

It may not be related to your exercise.

I can feel a general pulling in my calves at the back but no pain in my ankles. They are more puffy. I have always had good blood pressure when it's been checked at pill checks. I wondered if it was related to my weight & that I'm not used to.exercise/not fit. I have a sedentary job as a secretary.

I have always got fluid in my legs if I walk alot or stand for long periods of time.
Yesterday I walked nearly 25,000 steps and as expected, my legs are fluidy today.
My blood pressure has always been perfect
