Actually there is one which I really like. It's done by a programmer, but works for everyone with a sedentary lifestyle, I don't know if that applies:

Weight loss, most are indeed trash. No scientific back-up, restricted for no reason and van promote diets on way too little calories.
Exercise, I really liked new rules of lifting for women (which has suggestions for meal plans with decent amounts of calories). I've heard good things about all the new rules of lifting books. There are plenty of suggestions around. From what I've read here, heavy lifting is where it's at

Also wanted to clarify: The book I posted is not about weight loss, but more on lifestyle improvements to get healthier.
It also clearly explains why there is nothing such as a perfect diet or "the workout" or similar. The key is variation.0 -
I don't get why someone would buy a book on any topic when the internet is full of the same information, for free.0

Thinner Leaner Stronger by Michael Matthews. This book was a game changer for me and I highly recommend it for women who want to lose fat and build a lean, sexy and strong physique. I'm currently on the 4th month of his workout plan. (He wrote a book for Men called Bigger, Leaner, Stronger too).
Very easy read. Straight to the point. No BS.

I liked a few books on mindful eating. They helped me lose some bloat by focusing on healthy, sustainable habits. Amazon has tons of options. The books I read were called "savor" by thich niat hanh and someone else, and "mindful eating" but I don't recall the author0

The abs diet is a good one. Old enough to get at the library also.0
