I had the flu last Mon and Tues.. never had the flu for 2 days. But I still not able to shake it. I feel dizzy and my stomach feels weak. Any suggestions what I can do or what is going on? I haven't been able to work out in over a week and my eating has spiraled out of control as I am still able to eat I just feel like CRAP!!!

Maybe you need to see your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on.

See your doctor and get plenty of fluids in the mean time.

Stomach flu? You're probably really dehydrated. It takes a few days to come back from that. Drink lots of fluids. Maybe gatorade or something comparable.

I'd say see your doctor, but it's a holiday weekend. Our insurance carrier has a nurse that you can call in for advise 24/7. The phone # is on the back of my insurance card. You might want to check your card to see if you have a similar option. Come Tuesday, call your doc. Take it easy and stay hydrated.

    Fedup,
Go see the doctor to make sure that there are no other issues going on if it is truly that bad (Which having the flu is never a good thing) But it does not hurt to be cautious. Since a flu is a virus, it takes about 5-7 days to at least pass through your system. The only thing your doctor will tell you is to:

Get plenty of rest --whatever it is, its gonna have to wait. The more rest you get, the more white blood cells can fight off this bug
Drink lots of OJ, Water, Gatorade to stay hydrated. Yes, one can dehydrate and be sick from constant drainage from nose and sweating. Plus, this flushes out the bad bacteria in your body.

Drink chicken broth is you can stomach it in very small amounts. There are properties in chicken broth that assists with making people feel better (weird, but it works!)

Take extra vitamin c (if its okay with your doctor).

Stay away from sugar, since this just weakens your immune system and takes longer for you to heal from this virus

If you have a juicer, make a juice with an apple, carrot and spinach. Lots of vitamin A & B and Iron. You wont feel as weak and this is a natural laxative. Take this in the evening so you can move your bowels. If you take it during the day, you wont die. It just works better while you sleep. Remember, this is a virus that is in your body and needs to get out.

I hoe you feel better. I am going to pray that you heal quickly.

Thank you all of you for your advice!! I am still feeling sick in the stomach... not a holiday here in Canada so I called my doctor this morning and I was able to get an appt for tomorrow... Hopefully she will shed some light on this!! I read up on it and I might have an ulcer... Praying that isn't the case...

    Thanks again... :flowerforyou:
