Anyone use these?? Do they work? If so, what are your suggestions and success?

I don't know how weighted they are, but the ones at my hoop class are definitely heavier than the ones we all grew up with. If you search on YouTube, there are tons of tutorials on how to make the PVC ones.
I take hoopnotica classes and bought one from some other ladies there who make them. Hooping is great ab work and you can work up a sweat, too.0 -
I have one. I sometimes use it on at home during commercials while I am watching tv. However, I would suggest taking a class. If you google hoop dance on youtube though there are a lot of tutorials. My YMCA has classes but also a lot of private fitness places offer hoop dance classes. Great workouts.0

I have a weighted hula hoop and I love to use it. I think it's a good abdominal exercise, but it's not really a cardio exercise for me if I just do regular hula hooping. Wore my HRM the other day out of curiosity, and I really never got my heart rate up above 90 since I've gotten very efficient at hula hooping.
I'd love to take a class and do more moves with it, but you need a really large room to do a class since the weighted hoops are very large and people need to move around a lot.
Oh yeah........when you first get it, be careful how long you use it because when I first got mine I over did it and my waist felt like it should have been covered with bruises from all the banging around of the weighted hoop. Had to use it the next few days with a towel pinned around my waist! LOL0 -
I've been totally thinking about these lately! I think having it at home will be awesome for those days I can not make it to the gym. Check out this website for hoops and dvds too! (Canyonhoops.com)
Good luck & keep me posted on your status. Maybe we can be "hoop buddies"
