excuses and how do you push past them?

What are the excuses you tell your self even tho deep down you know they're bs. And what do you do to get past them

Hmm...I guess I used to have the whole "I'm too tired to go to the gym" excuse, but it's been a long time since I've felt that way (partly due to starting to take a pre-workout I must admit), and partly because I no longer see it as an option. It's part of my life and something that needs to be done.
Diet wise. No excuses. I'm either being lazy or I'm not.0 -
Thank you for your reply, i would always tell myself myfitnesspal told me i still have 1000 calories left so i can afford this snack. Which turned into two snacks. ..then more sometimes. But now i think about it as an accomplishment to have Calories left at the end of the day.0

I am quite guilty of the being too tired excuse as well, so when that happens and I can't convince myself to suck it up and do a lengthy workout, I'll at least sneak in SOME exercise. Maybe it'll be 100 squats or something like that. At least I'm moving.
My second is that it's okay because I'm not overweight. Although I'm not at my ideal weight, I haven't been on the border of being overweight in the past 7 years, so I pretty much allow myself to eat whatever I want. I'm still unhappy about it because it's not the body I want though. I think what saves me there is that I don't eat meat or most candy, so a lot of the food I eat isn't extremely high calories. I haven't found a way to deal with this one yet.0 -
I used to find I was always too tired to go to the gym after work. I found that leaving work in my gym clothes helped me as it was harder to make an excuse if I was dressed and ready. Then when I get there I put on my trainers and go. Or if I am tired I make a bargain 'Okay I will go and just do my chest press then go', but of course once I am there I perk up and do my whole workout.
Then with my diet I find that having something to look forward to at the weekend keeps me good in the week. eg this weekend I'm seeing my other half and we're going to go to pizza express. That plus wine = a big old meal. However, if I stick to my goal for the rest of the week even with a big cheat meal my net calories for the week are still acceptable. Then if I am tempted in the week to get some nandos/pizza I can think well in X days I will have X tasty meal, and I'd rather wait. Also the anticipation makes it taste better!
To help with this I set my daily goal for 1400, then with a cheat meal/day I tend to hit 1500-1600 net for the week. So far it's been working well for me!0 -

"OHHHHH period crampsssss"
"I don't have time"
"I feel like I don't have the energy"
What I do? Look down at my thighs, and say "remember how much you don't like the extra fat on your thighs? At this rate, you're gonna be best friends for life if you keep giving into your bs excuses."0 -
Thank you ladies! I've been writing down some rebuttals for my excuses and I've used those excuses before so I love your answers0

i just don't listen. I just tell myself "not good enough" and keep going0

"I don't have time to make my lunch the night before..."
"I can't plan meals in advance..."
"I'll be the only odd one not having pizza (or hamburgers or chips, etc.)..."
But I have the time to go on the computer, talk on the phone, text friends, go shopping, etc. So I tell myself it's all about priorities. I CHOOSE to make my weight loss plan a priority for myself. No one is hovering over me telling me I HAVE to lose weight. But my health will suffer as well as my mental state.
I visualize kicking and punching the excuses away every time I do my kickboxing.

I get too tired a lot of times and just don't want to get up. Then I found out I was B12 deficient, so getting that fixed neatly removed that excuse. So unless I'm sick, I can't justify it in my head anymore. But what I ended up having to do was find an app to listen to while I work out. I've discovered if I can keep my mind occupied, I'm much more likely to keep exercising. And I look forward to walks now because of the story I'm listening to. I made myself a promise to never listen to that app UNLESS I'm walking, so I have to walk to see how it goes. XD0
