can created recipes be used as ingredients?

sometimes I'll log/create a recipe, and I'll want to use a portion of the created recipe towards another recipe.

let's say I make homemade marshmallows.

and then, let's say I want to make cereal treats using said marshmallows.

is there a way to pull up my created marshmallows that I'm not seeing?

thank you for your time. :)

yes, yes they can! you have to enter them into the "my foods" section, and then wait for it to be loaded into the database. then, boom! cereal treats. ;)

answered my own question. I win.

Glad you found the workaround. Before MFP made changes in 2014, a user used to be able to use the Old Recipe Calculator search function to locate their own saved recipes and use them. Sometimes software upgrades lead to less functionality and extra work to find and use workarounds. Grrrrr. :disappointed:

grr, indeed. I've made so many re-usable recipes, I'm glad I can finally use them!

and don't even get me started on upgrades. ;) "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

This will be helpful for the homemade marinara sauce sitting in my freezer! Thanks for sharing!
