I need to work out, but I really just want a nap...

I got up early to go to the doctor's and learned 1) I'm not quite as heavy as I thought I was (I either lost weight or the other scale was defective), and 2) I'm supposed to be doing at least 1h of exercise EVERY DAY!!!
I'm definitely not there yet, but working out today should happen. I haven't done anything for 2 days in a row, so there are no excuses (none worth listening to anyway). Except I'm very tired out, and I don't wanna, and bleh. I feel dizzy and sleepy and my arm hurts from getting a shot. This is not acceptable, I need to move!
How do you get yourself out and to the gym when you feel like going to sleep?

Probably not the same for you, but when I get home from work, I have nagging kids that make me want to "get away" so I use working out in the garage as an excuse so that my husband doesn't think I'm just trying to avoid parenting. LOL0

I personally don't like the gym and prefer workouts at home. I also know that when my body is low on nutrients, such as Vitamin D and iron, I'm pretty tired. My suggestion is to check all the nutrients in your body first, then that may explain why you are so tired. Also, exercise helps to boost energy. So although it may seem like you are too tired to start, you have to push yourself to get started!0

This! I once took a 14 hours nap after work one day only to wake up just in time for work the next day. Come to find out I had a vitamin D deficiency.0 -
I checked in with my nutrients and ate some more fruit/veggies/and some nuts. I think I'm good. I did need the reminder that I will feel more alert/awake for working out0

Take a short walk outside in the sun before hand. That might liven you up a bit, enough to want to work out.0

I think being expected to work out everyday is somewhat unreasonable for someone who has a hard time getting motivated, so don't feel bad if you don't go every single day! You are supposed to have some recovery days as well. Most americans have vitamin D deficiency including myself. Maybe take a walk outside in shorts and short sleeves for that hour. Get your Vitamin D in with your walk. Also take vitamin D supplement, better from the sun though you should probably try to hit it from all sides. One of the best ways to get motivated is to do it with friends or coworkers. My coworkers are the single biggest reason I work out 5 days a week. so if you can try to find a group or another friend to do it with you.0

It really depends because there are times when lack of sleep will negatively affect my appetite.
So like if I'm having a bout of insomnia, and the night before maybe I only got 4 solid hours of sleep, I know from experience that a nap will be better for me. If I don't take a nap, then I get ravenous carb/sugar cravings later in the afternoon evening, and I tend to overeat because I'm low on willpower.
But if I nap, I ward all that off and keep my appetite in check. Then just go to the gym the next day.
But you really do need to be honest with yourself. Are you just feeling lazy, or are you really and truly tired.

Also, really really take a good look at your eating style. Some nutrients and vitamins block the absorption of others. example Iron and Calcium when taken or eaten together block the absorption rate of each other. So if you eat the same kinds of foods in the same kinds of way you might not be getting in as many as you think........just something to consider

I have been wanting a nap since 2008, when my first kid was born... I'm actually the opposite of you, always fighting to squeeze scraps of time in to workout, so I'm exercising at lunch, in the morning before work, or at night when the kids are asleep. I never appreciated my available time before my days as a parent!
Just get up and put on your workout clothes. When I do that I am making a step toward committing to working out, and it is more difficult to weasel out of it.0 -
I should be working out now.i can hardly keep my eyes open.im that tired from work and cleaning up the house.i hope I can fit it in tomorrow if not Saturday will have to be the day. If I'm this tired I personally won't push my body beyond what it can and wants to do . I worked out 2 x this week already also I know it's not much at all but if I can fit my 3 x a week at least then I'm happy coz if you are a working mum and like my job is mostly on my feet anyway then you do the workout already trough the day. Obviously not as much probably as you should but if you tired you tired get sleep. Simple as that ! Is what I'm gonna do in a minute.get rest. I rather go sleep early today and be fully rested tomorrow and can work out hopefully then ,then try push my self have not much results and do nothing tomorrow at all coz I'm still down exhausted.0
