Hi,

I'm overweight and have just started jogging on a treadmill. I started at walking a mile and jogging .10mile, then jogging .2 then I took a few days off. Yesterday I ran .25miles and walked the other half.

My husband and I were literally walking into the gym doors tonight when I started getting a sharp pain across the width of my left shin. It felt like a lightening rod striking my leg periodically (every few steps). It is completely random and has been happening for the past few hours.

Is this shin splints or something else? Thanks in advance for your help!

Shin splints are awful! It is def that. I can barely eun sometimes because of it. I found that magnesium oil helps prevent it a bit and believe it or not, my posture. Also, try K-tape!!!

Thank you! I will check that out. A friend told me this morning about magnesium deficiencies, so I'm glad you reiterated that!
