New to this. Ready to lose 30 lbs!

So I'm a senior in high school and I've always loved sports. The one thing that has always held me back is my weight, I'm 207 and 5'8. I'm aiming for 175 so I can hopefully be able to play sports my senior year and have an enjoyable senior year Willing to listen to anyone with advice or encouragement

Hey there. My advice is to cut out sodas and other sugary drinks and cut down on carbs..maybe about half of what you're eating give or take. Eat lean protein and up your veggie intake. Stay active! That's how I got to cut my weight. This may or may not work for you, so try and see what you and your body can handle. Good luck, you can do this!
BTW my best friend lives in Omaha and says the next time I visit, she's buying me a Cornhuskers shirt. I said, "nah, get me a Creighton one"....I think she's reevaluating our friendship haha oops!0 -
The best thing you can do is find people (friends, family) that can help motivate you. I find that if I have someone who is cheering me on in the back ground that I do much better. I also have a teenager that will be in the 10th grade who is trying to gain muscle. So the challenge is there no matter what way you are trying to go. I would say get on a good exercise plan or talk to the weight lifting coach or maybe one of the football coaches. I am sure they would be able to lead you in the right direction and maybe even let you work out with them. It is worth a try. Once you get that settled then get on a good healthy eating routine. It is tough being in school all day but you can find your way now that it is summer and have a good month under your belt before going back.
