Looking for friends that have young kids

I'd be happy to add any new friends that will help motivate me, but I would specifically love more friends with young kids
Before having kids I successfully lost over 50 pounds and was in great shape! I thought it would be just as easy to shed the weight after kids. Boy was I wrong! I had no idea how challenging it can be to fit in exercise when you have young kids (3 and 1) and a job! But I don't want that to be an excuse anymore because I have 60 pounds to lose. Would love some other parents (or anyone else) to share the journey!

I have 5 kids aged 15, 12, 10, 8 and 3. We are on a tight budget, so we pretty much eat all the same things. Best of luck on your journey.0

I work full-time and have 3 young kids - 5, 3 and 2.0

Four kids here. 12, 9, 2, 1. I work and go to school, I've been in maintenance for several years and my focus right now is strength and endurance.0

Hi! I've got 3 kids - 6, 4 and 1. I work 3 days a week as a secondary school teacher, but will be doing 4 days from Sept. I've still got around 15-20lbs to lose after my 3rd baby. Before I got pregnant with her I was in great shape, after my 2nd.
We break up next Wed for the Summer holidays, so I'll have 6 weeks off to really focus on exercise and eating well, plus I'll be taking my kids out every day so I'll burn more calories from that too
I usually manage to work out at least 4 times a week. I'm pretty good with eating, but I've been a bit slack with my logging lately as I've just been so busy. My job is pretty demanding, and my husband does shift work, so when he's on late shift I'm on my own all evening with the kids.0 -
I work full time and have a 4 year old. He loves to work out with me.0

I have 3 kids (11, 7, 2), and work full time. Work out 5-6 days a week.0

Hey I work full time and have a 2 yr old... only just started my weight loss journey (or this time I'm serious). Would be grateful for friends to help push me through this! I need to lose about 70lbs to be my healthy weight... baby steps!0

I know what you mean. I have a 2 almost 3 year old. And she is the most stubborn kid I've ever met. Any time I try to exercise she finds a way to derail it lol. I want to lose probably about 70-80 lbs.0

I have a 4 and 6 year old. I'll add you! I know how hard it can be to squeeze it in!0

I have 3 kids ( 5, 8, 9 ) and 120 lbs to lose, best of luck.0

I work full time but my kids are not that young, I have one at 12 and one at 9 but I am a single mum and I have the kids most of the time so find it hard to fit exercise in too!0

I've got 3 young kids: ages 5, 4, and 2 1/2. I had 3 kids under age 3 for a couple of months. Crazy times at our house!
We don't have a gym in our tiny town in the middle of nowhere, so I do all my workouts at home - with no equipment besides 2-8 lb weights. It's hard but it can work if you make the time. I've lost 35 lbs through just diet and exercise. Good luck to you!0 -
I've sent you a friend request. 2 kids age 4 and 9 and in Canada as well. We joined a Y in our neighborhood and that has been excellent. Childcare and programs provided for the kids while I work out. (although usually I go in the morning before work) I walk on my lunch breaks at work. And now that the little one can manage a bike we do bike rides together. Even just going to the park with the kids in the evenings- keeps me away from snacking in the kitchen!
This time around with weightloss plan this time feels sustainable- Much of that attributed to a better, less stressful job; a great support network and My fitness pal! And that understanding that you don't have to kill yourself in the gym, or deprive yourself- just watch portions.
Good luck to you!

I have 2 kids 6 and 4, and one on the way. I can understand how it may be a little difficult working full time and losing like you want, but it's Def possible. I give alot of credit to the fact that I became a stay at home mom to my weight loss because my I didn't have to worry about when I can fit in a workout, work, Cook, clean, entertain the kids, and the hubby. I have a much easier time balancing it now. But for the working moms, I can totally understand the struggle. 30 mins a day is better than nothing even if u have to wake up earlier. Add if you'd like0

I'm a work at home mom with a 17 year old and a 2 year old. We also practice attachment parenting which takes having a little one to a whole other level.
I would love more friends. Just starting out with my fitness app.

Hello, I've got 3 kids ages 14,11 and 3. I'm a full-time nurse and I work 6 days a week. When I had my first two kids, the weight came right off but with my last child, which was a surprise by the way, the weight didn't come off. She's 3 now and I've decided I needed to get the weight off. When I stepped on the scale and seen 180ibs, I decided I wasn't going to gain anymore weight. I started my weight loss journey 1-1-15 and I'm still going. Juggling family life, (husband, 3 kids) work (6 days a week) and working out 5-6 days a week. It gets easier as you go along especially when you see progress. Good luck on your journey. Add me any and everyone.0

I'm a nurse too
I only work 3 days a week... So I find it really impressive and motivating that you are able to work out 5-6 days a week!0 -
I have two boys (5 and 6). I work full-time and my husband works full-time and goes to graduate school at night so I'm a one-woman show for much of the time! I always like more friends! Anyone can add me!0

Feel free to add me. I have a 2 yr old and 4 yr old, both girls. My wife and I used to workout together at the gym 3-5 times a week before kids. After kids our whole routing got thrown off. I put on a good 40 lbs when we had our oldest and successfully lost it all. Put on 25 lbs with our youngest and also lost that. Now I've found it difficult to keep the weight off, I fluctuate in a 15 lb range now throughout the year (get lazy and gain weight, get motivated and get back in shape, repeat, etc). My wife on the other hand gained 40 lbs with our first and 50 lbs with our second and lost it all and is now actually 5 lbs lighter than she was on our wedding day! She's better with the staying fit stuff than I am and I didn't even have any kids, I just had sympathy weight haha!
It is much harder to stay in shape with kids as you tend to put their needs first and put yours on the back burner. You're also more tired in general so you tend to make easier/poorer food choices and exercise less, so you have to fight that as best you can. I basically came to the conclusion at one point that I was either going to be the fat out of shape dad that didn't care anymore or I was going to do something about it and get back into shape and be the cool in shape dad that still had a guy shape and muscles. This is compounded further by simply getting older (i.e. much harder to lose weight in 30's than in 20's, etc).
I see women that lose weight all the time after having kids. Outside of the rare health issue, I don't really think it's impossible to do as I've seen my own wife and several others do it. It's a matter of internal motivation. Not only is it nice to look good, but it's also good to set a good example for your kids to see what it means to eat right, exercise, and be active and happy, etc.
Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!0 -

Lol my husband also gained sympathy weight in my pregnancies.
I agree it's not impossible to lose weight after having babies, it just takes time. It takes me about 20 months to lose it all, and that's 20 months of hardcore exercise, and eating at a deficit. I've been back at the gym after my 6 week check with all 3 of mine. When I wanted to lose weight for my wedding, pre kids, it took me nowhere near as long to lose weight.
My 6 and 4 year old are aware of size now and I'd hate to be the fat mum on the school run! They're also incredibly active so I need to keep up.

^ I was always one of those guys that thought sympathy weight was just some lame concept that people made up, but sure enough I fell victim to it haha! At least I lost the weight along with my wife haha!
It took my wife over a year to lose the weight both times. Maybe 12-16 months I'm guessing. It was not an overnight thing that's for sure. She's more rigid than I am with the diet/exercise stuff which is why her weight is the same most of the year whereas I fluctuate a bit.
I'm the same way, don't really want to be the "fat dad" with a big gut and moobs, at least not in my 30's! Maybe when I'm 50 I won't care anymore, but not just yet haha! Kudos to you for losing all that weight, that's not easy. You've also set a great example for your kids!0 -
