I've battled obesity my entire life. More than once I've lost more than 100 pounds only to gain it back again. Once again I'm trying. I read a quote that said " fall down 7 times, get back up 8". So I'm getting back up and would love to meet some people like me. I'm turning 47....err I mean 29 in a couple of weeks and I know I have to stop killing myself. I need to lose at least 140 pounds. Any help and support would be much appreciated

Hey there!
I too have lost over a 100 lbs only to gain it back again. I gained all my weight back in about a year when it took me over a couple years to lose it. I completely understand where you are coming from. It's frustrating. You torture yourself mentally and think this it. That you'll never lose the weight again. But it's not true. I like that quote a lot because it speaks so personally to me. I need to lose around the same amount of weight. I'm doing it in incremental goals this time around, about 10lb goals. When I think of how much I have to lose, I get discouraged so I'm giving it another go with a different approach. We can do this. Let this be our eighth time getting up (because it's too darn tiring getting up and down!)0 -
I am the classic yo-yo! I titled my profile pic "Here I go again." I get you! You can do it! Feel free to add me all!0

Any of you can add me as well. I lost 80 lbs before and gained 100. I'm now working to get it all back off. Again.0

Often times, the most important and significant changes occur in our heart and soul, and it can take the mind and body a little while to catch up.
Never forgot that life is not a race but a marathon of new beginnings.
You fell down and resolved inside yourself to get back up (again). That takes courage and a lot of will. Be proud of yourself for that, knowing that you have taken one step forward in being the best woman you can be.
You can do it.0 -
I am a yo yo dieter as well and am determined that this is the time that I lose the weight and keep it off. This time I am trying to change my thinking about all this, not just what and how much I eat and how much I move. I have been very motivated this time by the books by Judith Beck (The Beck Diet Solution and The Diet Trap Solution) that address the ways our thinking and certain situations that start us regaining the weight after all our hard work.0
