Am I working out too hard???

For the last 3 days I have worked my body to the point of fatigue.....I had originally planned to work out 6 days a week....my cousin told me I was going over bored but I guess I am at a point of obsession. I've lolly gagged for the last couple of months and now my wedding ceremony is less than 3 months away and I am so worried that I won't loose the amount of weight that I'm wanting to loose around that time frame....I currently weight about 190 and I am trying to get down to at least 160 around that time. I want to keep to my original plan of working out 6 days a week but I am so tired right now that I don't know what to do, lol! I do turbo jam: cardio party to burn off the fat, that work out is about 40 minutes, and then right after I finish that work out I pop in the turbo sculpt dvd to tone up...I burn over 1000 calories doing both work outs....is that too much to do 6 days a week?

Yes, your body needs time to rest and rebuild muscle after you've worked them hard - you should only really do strength training every other day at most. Maybe try alternating some high intensity days with lower intensity, or skip the scupt DVD on alternate days.0

I work out everyday for about 60 min- 120 min...I am exhausted and tired but am able to get through the day....Do what your body needs if one day you feel to tired/exhausted take that day off...you dont want to overwork yourself!!!0

I would think your body will tell you if it's too much. As long as your doctor clearaed you for exercise and you are eating appropriately I think it will jump start you and the results will keep you from burn out.
I got serious about working out about three months ago. I was 189 at one point, this morning I was 163. I dont workout 6x a week but only because my schedule wont allow it. I now spend upto 90 min a day doing cardio at the gym. (Eliptical/treadmill/stairmaster) and I add in step and cycling classes. My suggestions are as follows:
1. Mix it up. They say repeating the same exercises will result in less calories burned as your body learns the program and reduces its energy burn. (Stupid smart bodies!)
2. Eat your calories back in. Starvation will not work. You will be lethargic and you will not see the wieght drop the way you want. Eat healthy, make a plan and stick to it.
3. Reward yourself every 10lbs loss or so. VS panties/bra, new workout shorts, sports bra, good running shoes. NOT FOOD. Mini Goals keep you excited.

you really need to make sure you're staying hydrated and taking in enough protein for your body to continue to work properly. i cannot stress how important your diet is when you really push yourself...0

If you are doing multiple workouts a day then break them up. I do 1 hour cardio in the morning and 1 hour strength training at night. Also, you should be eating right. That means getting enough calories of proteins, some carbs, and even some good fats. Otherwise, you won't have energy and you'll be susceptible to fatigue, which it sounds like you are. One day of rest/recovery is good too. 6 days is not going overboard. It's going overboard if you are also starving yourself.
An all out protein diet is not good either because when you start eating carbs again you'll just blow up. It's better to limit your carb intake. And if your dieting correctly you should take a multi-vitamin. It is crucial. It's hard to get all the nutrients and vitamins your body needs when you are restricting diet and calories.
I always take one multi-vitamin, a B-super complex, B6 and B12 vitamins. You could probably just go with the multi and the B-super complex.0 -
I agree with pretty much with everyone else here. You have to find a way to fit protein in your diet if you don't want your muscles to deteriorate. The harder you push your self and the more work your muscles do the more protein you need to rebuild those muscles. If you dont get the the protein they will breakdown and be weaker than they were before. I know your going for weight loss but you should keep that in consideration to because it is really hard to build muscles back up once you lose what you already have.
I also agree with the poster above me. It is really hard to find that balance between how much protein you should and shouldn't take.0
